CliniTech Medical’s Fogger uses a unique low energy ultrasonic technology to create large amounts of Ultra Fine Hypochlorous fog particles, for use in any indoor space up to 400 sqm.
CliniTech Medical LTD awarded Department for Health and Social Care contract with hypochlorous acid.
Following many years promoting the benefits of hypochlorous acid for disinfection, CliniTech Medical has seen its efforts rewarded with a recent contract award with the Department of Health and Social Care.
Under the new contract, CliniTech is providing disinfection solutions for use within newly built Government buildings. The brief was to provide airborne fogging to multiple rooms, utilising the safest and most effective fogging liquid.
CliniTech’s hardware comprises their ULTRAFOG-1200SV, a simple to use stationary dry fog system, which delivers rapid fogging with virtually no noise. Designed exclusively for pure stable hypochlorous acid, creating the most innovative and effective disinfection protocol.
“Our first choice for pure stable hypochlorous has always been Aqualution’s outstanding EU approved solutions,” commented CliniTech Medical’s MD Christopher Docking. “Around the start of the pandemic we were inundated with customer requests for a safe and effective fogging solution. The good news was that we already had hypochlorous acid technology onboard with many in-use applications across a range of sectors and environments. The challenge was to educate our clients to the dangers of using other so called hypochlorous products. We’re so pleased to have ensured DHSC utilised the gold standard in fogging technology that we can provide.”
The benefits of hypochlorous acid over traditional quat disinfectants are numerous. It has a very low contact times of less than 60 seconds, efficacy against 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses, can be used on both soft and hard surfaces, is gentle for use in public spaces, leaves no toxic residues and has a 12-month shelf life. As it is simple to use, compliance is high.
Selecting the most suitable disinfectant is however, only one of the two components essential for effective environmental disinfection. The other component is ensuring that the disinfectant contacts all surfaces and is given the correct dwell time. There has been considerable uptake from all sectors of fogging as a decontamination strategy: environmental fogging allows the hypochlorous acid to reach areas that would not normally be sanitised by human spray and wipe techniques, requires minimal human input and provides visual reassurance that something positive is being done.
CEO of Aqualution Systems, Nick Meakin, added, “Hypochlorous acid is seeing a huge boost from organisations such as the Department of Health and Social Care, leading UK care homes and the NHS who are now appreciating its many benefits over and above traditional quats, bleach and HPV. Our partners at CliniTech Medical have been extolling its virtues with us for many years with the effort now being paid off.”
Despite the challenges recently faced and everything going on in the industry and beyond, we have not taken our eye off the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show! The 2022 event will be a fantastic opportunity to get together again and reflect upon how far we have come as a profession and a society.

It matters which infection prevention keyboard designs are installed within hospitals.
CliniTech Medical has designed the next generation of infection prevention keyboards, meeting the needs of the NHS.
Keyboards within hospital settings are known to be a vector of potentially multi resistant bacteria and viruses.
Having a waterproof or washable and low profile key keyboard is not enough to ensure cleaning compliance or sufficient reductions in bacterial load.
Hospitals need a 100% flat keyboard design made with quality materials, a warranty that backs up a manufacturer's claims and a typing feel that staff enjoy.
The CliniTech Keyboard has all these aspects and will help in the fight against reducing cross infection in this difficult time.

CliniTech Medical is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Bella Moss Foundation.
The Bella Moss Foundation is a charity which promotes prudent antimicrobial use and hygiene in human and veterinary medicine. It was set up in 2005 by Jill Moss, an actress, following the death of her dog, Bella, from a badly managed MRSA infection, and has developed into an international champion of good practice linking patients and veterinary clients with best practice resources and access to good advice.
BSAVA. Renasan First Aid Spray Competition.
CliniTech Medical recently learnt about RenaSan, a new First Aid Spray powered by a natural active ingredient called; 'Hypochlorous'. Having seen fantastic user feed-back, it’s safety record and EU approvals, it didn’t take long for the CliniTech team to establish that this quite remarkable solution should be available to the wider Veterinary market and its client base.
In a series of upcoming articles CliniTech Medical shares its knowledge in the field of IT equipment and infection prevention.
CliniTech Medical launched five innovative infection prevention technologies at this year’s London Vet Show.
All are aimed at advancing Veterinary best practice cleaning and disinfection, at a time when AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) is on the increase. Each technology is designed to ultimately help prevent cross contamination, improve quality of care and reduce post operable infection.
“AMR is a growing concern for the industry and there’s the need for more education and also the understanding of pet owners. However, we believe that more can be done to prevent infection in the first instance, so less is spent on drugs, treatment time, slowing of future AMR effects, and certainly improving levels of treatment and care.” Christopher Docking, Founder and Director.
Christopher goes on to explain the need for fit for purpose infection prevention computer keyboards: -
“A short study of standard Keyboards within a small animal practice found that they were not cleanable in a short period of time and not fit for purpose due to all the gaps between the keys. Several standard keyboards were cleaned and then swabbed immediately after with a ATP swab instrument. The results showed that bacteria levels on the standard keyboards were only reduced by an average of 5%.
“However, after installing a 100% flat keyboard technology then using the same cleaning and swabbing technique, the results showed an average bacteria reduction of 75%. Experts for infection prevention within the NHS have published information that indicates a direct link between infections like MRSA and keyboard cross contamination.
“Within Veterinary the need for a clean environment and fit for purpose high touch point hardware is paramount. Ultimately using best practice technologies, with the correct cleaning and disinfection could see post operable infection rates fall.”
CliniTech also presented their next generation 100% flat keyboard and mouse (Purekeys) at this year’s London Vet Show. Along with the above mentioned ATP swab technology, which can help ensure the money and time spent on cleaning and disinfection is working at its optimum. The handheld instrument can measure adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the universal unit of energy in all living cells.
The technology can give a fast 15 second reading to the level of ATP on surfaces and using established healthcare bench marks, a user can conclude whether a surface has met a minimum standard. Giving the opportunity for re-cleaning or new training should a surface fail. Its ability to electronically document cleanliness improvements over time means that records can be made available to support new infection control recommendations from the Practice Standards Scheme.
